How early
membership helps members: (Flat membership fees) GLAC is a member based organization and our rates are one of the lowest
with one of the best programming in the country!
Other organizations charge
our yearly rate
just for one family concert!
Over the past decade, our membership rates has stayed
around same even
though our operating costs have gone up by almost 50%
--augmenting the
difference with grants, corporate sponsorship, advertisements and
collaborations.
Also, our programming depends on your membership
--the
earlier you become a member, the better the quality and quantity of
concerts!
Are you a rasika? Show your support by becoming a member EVEN if you
think you can't attend all concerts.
Support GLAC to support Music in
Michigan!
Thanks in advance for your continued support. Looking forward to seeing you
as a member this year.
Musically yours,

Support for musicians - Summer Music Festival 'Paarambaryam'
When the COVID 19 pandemic struck world over, musicians were among the
impacted communities - with concerts being cancelled, tours postponed and all
related activities being completely shut down. Many musicians who depended on
these concerts alone for income, were in dire need of financial help. More
than 600 artistes have now been served since the pandemic began. Nadaswaram &
Thavil Vidwans have also been supported providing them with bags of essential
provisions. These services have reached over 1200 families providing financial
aid and other financial assistance such as medical aid, medical insurance,
pension/financial support to indigent, ailing and senior musicians.
GLAC co-sponsored 'Paarambaryam' - a festival serving as a Fundraiser towards the continuing
efforts to serve the artistic community that has been affected by the
COVID-19.
Our Mission & Vision
Vanakkam, Vandanam, Susvaagatam, Namaste and Welcome to
GLAC!
The Great Lakes Aradhana Committee or GLAC is
a premier non-profit organization committed to preserving, presenting and
promoting arts in the Great Lakes region.
Our mission is to promote classical arts in
our community for the cause of enrichment, participation and fellowship for art
aficionados in Michigan by bringing quality events on a regular basis with a
bias on membership satisfaction. GLAC helps the community in having arts
programs that meet the needs of an aging population, providing opportunities in
the arts for people with disabilities, having programs for migrant workers and
immigrants and programs on arts in healing/healthcare programs.
GLAC strives in perpetuating the unique
cultural heritage into the mainstream American diaspora with it's events well
attended by people of all ethnicities from the Great Lakes states of the USA and
Canada.

presented at the Detroit Cultural Exchange Network -- Detroit CEN.
Our History
GLAC was originally founded in 1985 and is the
oldest and largest Indo-American art organizations in Michigan. It was formally
incorporated in 2006 as a non-profit art resource in SE Michigan by a group of people who
truly appreciate, enjoy and want to promote one of the greatest cultural
traditions which has been passed down over the generations.
GLAC In the news: GLAC was featured in Visit Detroit Magazine (available in newstands and at the
Detroit Metro Airport).
Another fine example of how GLAC provides a
golden platform for our musicians by taking Indian Music into the
mainstream.
'Visit Detroit' Magazine, not only has local & national
reach, caters to thousands of travelers
visiting the Detroit Metro Airport everyday!
